Working together towards a prosperous and inclusive future

Fournier has developed a keen awareness of social acceptability concerns by implementing practices tailored to the realities of the mining industry. Supported by the Indigenous communities with whom the company has been working since 2012, Fournier & Fils prioritizes business partnerships based on equity and mutual respect.

It is important to highlight that we have a core group of Indigenous staff who are growing with us. While hiring local workers remains a priority, the company also invests in the inclusion of new employees, thereby helping to maximize the socio-economic benefits within local communities.

Take action

Giving back to forge lasting bonds

Our team comes together to provide Christmas baskets to Indigenous communities, our long-standing partners. This social contribution strengthens our bonds and collective pride. By sharing our resources and workforce, we turn our efforts into moments of sharing, enriching our collaborations and community engagement.

Implication

Visit our installations

At Fournier, our commitment to partnership goes beyond the professional realm to touch the very fabric of humanity. We firmly believe that the true value of our collaboration lies in the bonds we forge with the Indigenous communities we work with.

Recently, our workers welcomed a group of people from the Pikogan community to visit one of our mine sites, where several members of their community, employed through our partnership with the Pikogan Coop de Solidarité, are at work. Fournier encourages the sharing of unique and human experiences, a fundamental element of our mission.

Each visit reinforces our commitment to a true partnership, where we give as much as we receive. It’s not just work for us; it’s a human adventure we’re proud to share.

Support

Take part in awarding scholarships

We understand that access to education is often a major obstacle for many talented students. By contributing financially to scholarship initiatives, we aim to remove these barriers so that young people can pursue their academic and professional dreams without having to worry about financial constraints.

Our support goes far beyond monetary assistance: it reflects our profound belief that every student deserves an equal chance to succeed. Through this gesture, we are investing in the future, not only of the scholarship recipients, but also of our entire community, which will benefit from their future contributions.

We are proud to play a role, however small, in transforming lives through education. Every scholarship awarded is a seed sown for a flourishing future. We are committed to continuing this support, because education is the foundation of a prosperous and inclusive society.

Participation

Benefit golf events partnership on the green: Fournier on the golf courses for good causes

At Fournier, partnerships don’t stop at construction sites. By participating in charity golf tournaments organized by our partners, we contribute to causes close to our hearts while cultivating strong human relationships.

These relaxing moments on the course foster authentic exchanges, strengthen mutual trust, and support smoother collaboration on a daily basis. Because for us, building lasting relationships is part of the job.

Education

Conferences and lunch & learns at Fournier

At Fournier, internal education is not just a priority but a cornerstone of our corporate culture. Raising awareness and informing our staff about the realities faced by Indigenous peoples has become a common practice, and for good reason. We believe that mutual understanding is key to a fruitful and respectful partnership.

Our Lunch & Learn events are frequently organized not only to nourish the body but also to enrich the mind. These sessions provide a space for open and educational discussions, allowing our staff to delve into crucial topics, with a particular focus on the culture and challenges of Indigenous communities.

The expertise of our employees is undoubtedly our most valuable asset. By integrating the ancestral knowledge of Indigenous peoples with our own expertise at Fournier, we not only facilitate the execution of our field projects but also enrich them. This fusion of traditional and modern knowledge enhances not only efficiency but also strengthens the bonds of respect and collaboration with local communities.

Thus, by fostering a continuous learning environment, we cultivate an informed, respectful, and ready workforce, prepared to tackle challenges with a broadened and enriched perspective. This dual approach to training guides us toward a future where projects are carried out with deep understanding and mutual respect, beneficial to all.

Sharing

Sharing indigenous crafts

At Fournier, we have chosen to celebrate and share Indigenous crafts, an art that transcends simple objects to embody the traditions and culture of Indigenous peoples. Using natural materials, each piece of craftwork is a true testament to ingenuity, respect for nature, and rich cultural heritage.

In partnership with the Senneterre Centre d’entraide et d’amitié autochtone, we organized an exclusive sale for our employees, allowing them to discover and acquire these unique creations while learning more about their origins.

Much more than a sale, this initiative helped build connections between cultures and communities, enriching our daily lives with a sincere appreciation for the richness of Indigenous traditions.
